The year was 1969. The dates were August 15 through the morning of August 18. The world was evolving and a group of young Americans caught up in an escalting Vietnam war were searching for their place within it. In that time of conflict and uncertainty, three days of peace and music and understanding seemed to be just what a divided nation needed. What began on a stage in the middle of a small farm field in Bethel, NY ended on the world stage. No one knew it at the time, but those three days of music, mud, and memories would birth an entire cultural phenomenon.
With the subsequent release of an album set and a movie documentary came the realization to many that several incredible performances were somehow not included in the reals. One such act was Blood Sweat and Tears - the newly formed jazz rock pioneers featuring an extraordinary assembly of musical talent.
It is our pleasure to invite you to experience the music you may have missed that weekend in 1969 when Blood Sweat and Years faithfully performs the original Woodstock performance set. Join BSY and our troubadour friends, Dumpster Fire Serenade on Thursday August 14 at The Reveler in Richmond Virginia as we celebrate PRE WOODSTOCK day. Costumes are welcome of course. A splendid time is guaranteed for all!!
