IGDA Physical Game Jam & Breakfast @ Develop Brighton
About this Event
A very different kind of game jam! Please join us for a fun morning of gameplay design, free from technological and artistic restrictions. We'll be providing teas / coffees / pastries!
If you're a Game Designer, an aspiring Game Designer, are interested in learning more about design philosphy or potentially moving fields, or just want to join a fun morning fringe event on the Thursday of Develop: Brighton - we look forward to seeing you there!
Exploring the fundamentals of enjoyable game design!
We'll start by talking video game design and engaging gameplay mechanics, before breaking off into groups to work together to create a game using physical objects - no coding, engine or art knowledge, experience or skills required! Bring some things along or choose from the range of objects provided.
We'll then return together to explore everyone's creations and designs! We previously ran this workshop at Goldsmith's University with great success, and look forward to seeing what emerges.

About IGDA London
The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) is the world's largest nonprofit membership organisation serving all individuals who create games. Each chapter around the world is volunteer-led. As the London Chapter, we organise regular accessible events under the IGDA banner, which gives this community an opportunity to unite and flourish. You do not need to be a member of the IGDA to attend most of these events, but we do encourage you to become a card carrying member so you don't miss out on member-only, special events each year and many of the benefits from becoming an IGDA member.
Summarised, our purpose is for members of the IGDA London Chapter to: Belong, Bond and Learn.
