Hull Noir and Hull Libraries present...

THE DROP

  • Saturday 4 July
  • 6.30pm for a 7pm start
  • Hull Central Library
  • Tickets: £5

Based on a short story from Dennis Lehane (Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone, The Wire), THE DROP follows lonely bartender Bob Saginowski (Tom Hardy) whose Brooklyn bar is used to funnel cash to local gangsters. Under the heavy hand of his employer and cousin Marv (James Gandolfini), Bob finds himself at the centre of a robbery gone wrong and entwined in an investigation that digs into the neighbourhood’s shadowy past. A tough, tense and gripping thriller.

For this special screening, Nick Triplow and Nick Quantrill talk about the film, Dennis Lehane’s source story and his enduring influence on contemporary crime fiction.
