About this Event

Come join the Friends of Hoyt Park for a fantastic morning of birdwatching at Hoyt Park! Megan Heneke will lead us to some of her favorite spots to spot a variety of migratory birds passing through during the fall season. It's a great opportunity for all ages to learn about different species and enjoy the beauty of nature. We will go on some side trails which can be narrow and brushy, so please dress for woods exploration. Don't forget your binoculars! See you there!

Note: the Hoyt parking lot may still be under construction, please meet at the historic entrance by Capitol high on Regent Street

More about our guide, Megan:

Megan Heneke is an avid birder and eBirder. She's involved in Madison's chapter of the Feminist Bird Club which plans inclusive monthly events for birders of all skill levels. She enjoys continuing to build her skills and sharing what she's learned with others. Her favorite bird is the Scarlet Tanager. In her professional life, she is the Director of Compliance at UW-Madison's School of Medicine and Public Health.

Please note in order to have a group size that can see all of the great birding spots Hoyt Park has to offer, we need to cap attendance at 20 people.
