WildSide Discovery Day!

Explore, discover, and have fun at WildSide Discovery Days!

This event is open to all ages—children and adults are welcome. You do not need to attend with a child to participate and enjoy the event.

Experience a sampling of all Camp WildSide has to offer at your own pace! General admission tickets include access to:

- Guest speakers

- Bone studies

- Microscope labs

- Museum collections

- Guided Arts & Crafts: Make your own resin cast animal print that you can take home!

All activities run for the duration of the event so come at a time most convenient to you! All stations are optional and at your own pace, we recommend planning for about 2 hours to experience all we have to offer.

Guest Speakers:

Urban Canid Project: 11am-12pm

Learn about urban foxes & coyotes & their relationship with humans from Dr. David Drake (UW Madison Forest & Wildlife Ecology)

Naturalist Talk: 12:30-1:30pm

Listen to a special talk from one of our local naturalists and environmental educators!

History of Bird Banding: 2-3pm

Explore the process of bird banding with Wildlife Center Program Manager Jackie Edmunds.

*Live bird banding will be open at DCHS from 9am-2pm

Location: DCHS Equine Barn (5124 Voges Rd)

Ticket Price (per participant): $15 general admission; reduced rates are available for groups of 5+ people

Age Requirements:

All ages welcome! Adult participants can register for the event, too! Family friendly admission.

Youth participants 8-17 years old can attend with or without an adult present.

Youth participants 4-7 years old must be accompanied by an adult participant at all times.
