Through years of groundbreaking reporting, Westhead helped expose systemic failures within Canadian hockey and brought national attention to issues of abuse, power, accountability, and institutional response in sport. His work has shaped public conversations about athlete safety and the responsibilities of organizations entrusted with supporting young people.

Joined by award-winning prevention educator Stacey Forrester and prevention experts from Salal Sexual Violence Support Centre, Westhead will take part in a moderated discussion exploring what abuse in sport can teach us about prevention. Drawing on insights from We Breed Lions, the conversation will move beyond individual cases to examine the cultural and systemic factors that contribute to harm, including power dynamics, organizational culture, institutional responses, and barriers to accountability.

Combining investigative insight, prevention education, and audience questions, this event is designed for athletes, coaches, sport administrators, educators, parents, students, and community members interested in creating safer sport environments.
