A community meeting for residents of North Carlisle/Cumbria to understand the proposed National Grid Cross Border Connection - a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project affecting Carlisle.
The project concerns the construction of the largest consented Mega Substation in England at 74 acres (larger than Talkin Tarn) and 17 miles of 400kv Pylons connecting Scotland to England - Pylons of a scale and presence described as the motorways of electricity transmission.
At it's formative stage, National Grid are consulting on 2x sites for the mega substation with one located in Blackford with far reaching implications for communities surrounding ground zero for generations to come.
All communities across North Carlisle/Cumbria are welcome to attend.
