Hot Yoga @ the Black Cracker Field

As we reach the peak of hot, sultry summer days, this solar-powered hot yoga class is sure to bring you to a sweat!

Join us under the sun for a nature-based hot yoga class at the historic Black Cracker Practice Field.

The class will be led by Ayodele Murphy (@msayodele), yoga instructor of the Ghosh and Kemetic Lineages.

Hot yoga is a great practice for increased flexibility, detox, reducing stress, improved cardiovascular health, mental health boost, and much more.

YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN MAT

PRECAUTIONS

Guests will be participating in intense physical activity under direct sunlight in 85+ degree weather, for approximately 75 minutes.

Guests are strongly encouraged to:

1. Hydrate prior to and during the event.
2. Eat a light but healthy meal prior to participating in the activity.
3. Apply sunscreen prior to the event, and reapply as needed during the event.
4. Wear a hat and comfortable, sweat-wicking clothing.
5. Listen to your body, and pause or break when needed to prevent injury.
6. Use the restroom before arrival (there is a port-a-potty onsite)
7. Bring your own mat.

This program is a part of our Greenspace Wellness Program, and we will ask guest to complete a pre and post survey (questions and a blood pressure test) to understand the impact of nature-based programming on their well being. The survey results will be anonymously collected and aggregated, and participation in the survey is not mandatory.

In an effort to make our programming accessible to all, WAWA offers a sliding scale ticket option. Please choose the ticket option that best fits your circumstances and what you can give today.

PARKING

There is a service road to gain access to the Black Cracker Practice Field. Once you arrive at 1407 Bridges Ave SWl, look for WAWA signage pointing to a service road. Drive down the servie road and park with other cars.
