Visit for a FREE evening of creativity and inspiration. Watch artists transform molten glass into stunning works during live, narrated glassblowing demonstrations, explore a contemporary glass art exhibition, and discover so much more during our First Friday Open House at Pittsburgh Glass Center.
Every winter, thousands of clever crows flock to Pittsburgh, filling the skies and gathering their mysterious shiny treasures along the way. Celebrate these fascinating birds with us and the National Aviary on Friday, September 4 from 6–9pm.
Discover why crows choose Pittsburgh, learn about their legendary trinket collecting, and experience fiery glassmaking inspired by our feathered winter visitors.
Try a hands-on glass activity to commemorate your visit! Pre-register or sign up at the Front Desk to make a fused glass suncatcher ($35 per person) or a flameworked glass egg ($30). www.pittsburghglasscenter.org/classes/?course_search=2026-09-04#classes
Pop down the road to our satellite gallery, Pittsburgh Glass Corner, at 5431 Penn Ave, to explore the One Hundred Moments Project exhibition, produced by the Society of American Mosaic Artists (SAMA) and the Stained Glass Association of America (SGAA). The work of seasoned professionals will be displayed alongside enthusiastic newcomers to the mosaic, mixed media, stained glass, glass bead, and fused glass making processes, culminating in 100+ moments of life rendered by artists from all over the world.
All ages are welcome!
Pittsburgh Glass Center is wheelchair accessible. A sign language interpreter is provided. Please contact [email protected] with any accessibility concerns.
This event is made possible with support from the Allegheny Regional Asset District. Our thanks also go to Vitro Architectural Glass and UPG, co-lead sponsors of Hot Jams at PGC.
