About this Event
HORIBA's Raman Boot Camp is an intensive, hands-on training experience designed to rapidly sharpen your spectroscopy skills. Led by HORIBA’s expert Raman application scientists, this immersive program goes beyond fundamentals, teaching you how to fully leverage advanced instruments and software for real-world, lab-ready results.
You’ll work through real measurement challenges, strengthen your data interpretation skills, and learn how to consistently achieve the cleanest, highest-quality Raman data from your own system. This is tactical training for Raman scientists who want to troubleshoot with confidence and make smarter measurement decisions.
Why attend?
You won’t just understand Raman—you’ll learn how to use it effectively. Expect optimized workflows, clearer analysis strategies, and practical expertise you can apply immediately. Plus, gain direct access to the largest and most experienced Raman applications team in the industry, with one-on-one discussions, peer networking, and shared best practices that extend well beyond the classroom.
For those who want to go deeper, an optional third day offers advanced training, with your choice of Multivariate Analysis or Particle Correlated Raman Spectroscopy (PCRS).
The course will be held in HORIBA's Optical Spectroscopy Center in Piscataway, NJ.
Days 1 - 2
You’ll get classroom instruction and hands-on experience with HORIBA Raman microscopes and the latest LabSpec 6 software. You’ll learn to set up measurements, optimize parameters, collect high-quality data, and confidently interpret spectra—guided by our expert Applications Scientists. Plus, you’ll gain practical skills you can apply immediately to your own samples!
Over the course of two days (May 12-13), you will learn the basics of Raman spectroscopy and imaging.
Days 1–2 Topics: Raman Fundamentals, Imaging & Applications (May 12–13)
- Fundamentals of Raman Spectroscopy with Application Examples
- Fundamentals of Raman Instrumentation and Optimization for Different Sample Types
- HORIBA Raman Hardware and Software Overview
- Hands-On Training: Best Practices for Sampling, Focus, and Mapping
