🛩️Static Displays: Explore resident hangars and get up close with vintage and recreational aircraft.
🛩️Emergency Heroes: Meet the teams from LifeFlight and Wellington Free Ambulance, showcasing their lifesaving aircraft and services.
🛩️Family Fun: Join the Air Cadets for games and activities that the whole family will love.
🛩️Food & Picnics: Choose from five delicious food trucks or bring your own picnic to enjoy on the grass.
🛩️ Adventure Flights:
Legend Aviation will offer thrilling flights in the North American Harvard and de Havilland Tiger Moth.
Take to the skies with the Aero Club’s scenic trial flights and experience flying firsthand!
Why Hood Aerodrome?
Opened in 1931 and dedicated to local aviation pioneer Captain George Hood, this aerodrome is the heart of Wairarapa’s aviation history. As our region grows so does the need to expand our offering. Come along and learn about the Hood Aerodrome Project and the future of this space as we transform Hood Aerodrome into a more modern, functional airport and centre for aviation activity.
