HACKING FOR HUNTING with the
THE WAIRARAPA HUNT
23RD FEBRUARY 2025
$20 per rider guided by Kate Klingender Riding Coach & Deputy Master Wairarapa Hunt
The sessions are focussed on riders with green horses, horses that require practice riding in a
group and riders who wish to work on building confidence in themselves and their horses.
Sessions will include Q&A on hunting, etiquette & what to expect out hunting.
Meet at Shed & Yards 257 Matahiwi Road
Sunday 23 February
Time:
9am arrival to be ready for a briefing at 9:30 and ride out at 10am
Duration:
Approximately 2.5 hours.
Hack will start from the shed at 257 Matahiwi Road, after a short distance down
the road riders will go up onto the Maryfield Hill where you will have the opportunity to teach your horse about working in a group, waiting, going through gates and jumping a log. The ride will then continue up onto the airstrip ridge and there will be the opportunity to jump prepared spars, cross banks and water for
those who wish to practice these skills. The ride will include walk, trot and canter.
