Hong Kong-Style Mahjong Session!
About this Event
Come play and learn Hong Kong-style mahjong with us at Newton Free Library!
From 12-1pm, we'll run a learning session covering the basics of Hong Kong-style play, perfect for those playing for the first time or need a refresher! [Registration strongly encouraged for those interested in the learning portion]
From 1-4pm, it's open play, and you're welcome to drop in and out whenever works for you. Open play will be chicken hand (no points), so everyone plays the same relaxed way. We won't have separate tables for advanced or point-based play. If it gets busy, there may be a short wait for a table. We'll rotate once a table's time is up, and you're always welcome to hop back in the line.
We'll still have volunteer instructors around to help during open play, but we also encourage players to teach and learn from each other!
Come play, have fun, and meet some new friends!
Registration is strongly encouraged for beginners planning to attend the 12-1pm learning session, so we can make sure there's enough space and tiles for everyone.

下午12:00至1:00為教學時段，將教授香港麻雀的基本玩法，無論你是第一次接觸麻雀，還是需要重溫一下，都非常適合參加! [強烈建議有興趣這個時段的人士報名]
下午1:00至4:00為自由時段,大家可以隨時加入、隨時離開。規則一律採用「雞糊」(不計番)，讓所有人以同樣輕鬆的方式打牌。我們不會另外設置「番」枱，因此請大家做好打雞糊的準備！如遇人數較多，可能需要稍作等候，我們會在每枱時間結束後安排輪替，你也可以稍後再次排隊加入。
自由遊戲時段仍會有義工導師在場協助，同時我們也鼓勵大家互相交流和學習!
強烈建議計劃參加下午12點至1點教學時段的新手提前報名,以便我們確保有足夠的場地和麻雀供大家使用。
