A Beginner’s Guide to Herbal Medicine
Have you wanted to start using herbs at home, yet felt overwhelmed by where to begin?
Building a home apothecary can be simple, practical, and completely personalized to the needs of you and your family.
In this hands-on introductory workshop, we’ll explore the foundations of herbal medicine and how to begin creating an apothecary you’ll actually know how to use.
We’ll talk about herbal energetics, herbal actions, choosing herbs for different people and situations, and why the same herb may work beautifully for one person and be a poor match for another. You’ll learn how taste, temperature, moisture, constitution, and tissue states can give us clues when choosing herbs.
We’ll also explore some of the foundational herbs I recommend becoming familiar with first, how to recognize quality herbs, proper storage, sourcing, and how to gradually build your collection without buying dozens of herbs all at once.
You’ll receive a workbook and herb kit to take home so you can continue building your herbal knowledge and your own home apothecary after the workshop.
