Hitherto: A Chess Club at Henceforth
About this Event
Join us for Hitherto, a new monthly chess club at Henceforth! Whether you’re an absolute beginner, a casual player, or a seasoned strategist, there’s a place for you at the board.
Hitherto brings chess enthusiasts together for an evening of friendly competition, learning, and community over food and drinks.
What to expect:
- 6:00–6:30 PM | Casual Chess, Puzzles & Socializing: Grab a drink, meet fellow players, and enjoy casual bullet and blitz games on Chess dot com using your phone. Beginners are welcome to stop by the bar for a friendly introductory game over the board. Guests can also challenge themselves with chess puzzles set up on boards at the bar, analyze the positions, and write down what they think the best next move should be.
- 6:30–7:00 PM | Learn, Discuss & Solve: Explore chess strategies, tactics, and techniques through a short instructional video and group discussion. We’ll also review the chess puzzles from the first session as a group, compare proposed moves, and discuss the reasoning behind the solutions.
- 7:00–8:00 PM | Rapid Chess: Put your skills to the test with timed, over-the-board games against fellow participants.
