Historically Local: Council Grove Military Reservation

In 1874, the U.S. government established a military reservation in Council Grove to provide wood for nearby Fort Reno. Dr. Pearce’s presentation will highlight this aspect of Council Grove’s history, placing it in context with the development of forest conservation and public lands in Oklahoma and the western United States.
