Join the JSU Field School the 1st Friday and 3rd Saturday of every month in 2025 for a guided hike. We’ll discuss the plants, animals, and natural history of the area as we hike the trails.Come along with the Field School Staff on a guided 3.75-mile hike at the Little River National Preserve. The hike on the YCC Loop Trail will take us through the beautiful, wooded hills of Little River's backcountry. Please wear footwear suitable for hiking. Bring water, sun protection and possibly a snack.
WEATHER: As with all outdoor events, if it's raining/stormy or very poor trail conditions, we may have to cancel. If the weather is questionable, please check with the Canyon Center.
Date: Friday, October 3, 2025
Where: Meet at the Little River Canyon Center at 10:00 AM CDT - Fort Payne, Alabama on AL Hwy 35. We will caravan to the trail head.
Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm (CST).
Fee: Free and open to everyone! Registration appreciated.
