Join the JSU Field School the 1st Friday and 3rd Saturday of every month in 2025 for a guided hike. We’ll discuss the plants, animals, and natural history of the area as we hike the trails.Join us for a lovely and easy 1.5-mile hike along the Beaver Pond Trail at the Little River National Preserve. The hike will give us a great opportunity to see some native plants and a plethora of birds. Please wear footwear suitable for hiking. Bring water, sun protection and possibly a snack.
WEATHER: As with all outdoor events, if it's raining/stormy or very poor trail conditions, we may have to cancel. If the weather is questionable, please check with the Canyon Center.
Date: Saturday, October 18, 2025
Where: Meet at the Little River Canyon Center at 10:00 AM CDT - Fort Payne, Alabama on AL Hwy 35. We will caravan to the trail head.
Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm (CST).
Fee: Free and open to everyone! Registration appreciated.
