Her Sacred Sound - open mic night
About this Event
Join The Qahwa Collective for an afternoon of creativity, connection and community at our Open Mic Night for Muslim women aged 18+.
This is a space to share and celebrate the diverse experiences, identities and voices of Muslim women. Unlike a themed open mic, we are leaving the stage open for you to bring whatever feels meaningful to you, whether that’s poetry, spoken word, storytelling, personal reflections, culture, heritage, faith or creative expression.
The event will run from 2:30pm to 5:30pm and attendees will have the opportunity to listen, perform, connect with others and enjoy a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
Light refreshments and snacks will be available throughout the event. We will also be joined by a local small business selling iced drinks, giving attendees the opportunity to support a local entrepreneur while enjoying the afternoon.
If you would like to perform, please note that performer spaces are limited. To secure a performer slot, you must both purchase an event ticket and complete the performer sign up form linked here:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScpqnLahoN7ClbpY7UUtyq5jzxEL5dbAcs_KgNshfAYcKESBA/viewform?usp=header
Completing only one of these steps will not secure a performance space.
Whether you’re taking to the stage or simply coming to listen and support others, we would love to have you join us.
