About this Event

What you’ll get:

- Specially designed resources to support learning and stitching
- All materials provided for your creations
Join us on the opening day of exhibition, as we take inspiration from significant women-led strikes for equal pay and working conditions. These strikes reflect the broader place of women in society throughout the decades, and the action taken to address these inequalities.
The rich culture of poster design in the 1970s and 1980s helped to communicate strike demands and rallying calls to workers and the public. We will be taking inspiration from posters on display in the exhibition, including from The Poster Collective, Paddington Printshop and See Red Women’s Workshop, and making responses in textiles. These creations will be used as part of a collective textile piece in future workshops.
Part of PHM’s programme of activity exploring the history of strikes and solidarity.
