Healthy Me: Health Screening Simulation

Join medical student volunteers from Duke-NUS Medical School’s Project Dolphin for a pilot Health Screening. 🩺

Through a guided simulation, members will visit the ‘clinic’ with their caregivers. Together, they will visit several stations such as registration, a nursing station to check their weight and height, measure temperature, blood pressure and see the doctor for consultation.

Volunteers will go through a social story and demonstrate with toys to help members feel comfortable and familiar with common medical equipment. This interactive experience aims to help members reduce anxiety, manage their expectations and build confidence for future healthcare visits. ✨

IMPORTANT

• Members can only be accompanied by 1 caregiver except for members who require 2 caregivers’ assistance.

Project Dolphin - You never Swim Alone is a pilot Duke-NUS student-led initiative with the aim of promoting greater awareness and understanding of the special needs community as well as exploring different ways to engage and support young adults with special needs in leading meaningful lives through activities that will allow them to give back to the community in their own ways.
