‘Hashtag#2’ is a collage production based on concepts surrounding the Internet. Ranging from how young children perceive the Internet, to Internet fads, hashtags, memes, and social media, its language and impact. Each group has been working on different concepts through improvisation and role-play to develop the scenes of the play. They have also been required to research ideas and information surrounding these concepts. Some of the dialogue has been taken directly from the Internet and has been turned into script for performance.
‘#Hashtag’ has a political theatre edge to it. The cast range in age from 5– 19 years. All workshop teams have worked on the development of this production even the Year 12 Team as they work repertory, building “Punk rock” by Simon Stephens, in tandem.
