Growing a Local Food System: Annex Walking Tour

On this interactive Annex Residents' Association walking tour, we'll learn about the food insecurity in this community and some of the inspiring groups that are finding innovative ways to address it.

Visit, learn, and ask questions about:

• The Bowery Project milk crate gardens at Walmer Road Baptist Church
• The community fridge and pantry location run by Community Fridges Toronto (188 Lowther Ave.)
• The children's learning garden at St. Albans Park
• Karma Co-op and its food security gardens

This is the walk for you if you've been curious about any of these projects or wonder how you can get involved in movements that are helping build a fairer food system for all.

Total walk distance is 800 metres, across flat terrain. We'll be stopping frequently.

Walk will take place rain or shine, so please dress appropriately.

This event is free, but we'd appreciate a donation of food (perishable or non-perishable) for the community fridge.
