A walk from beautiful Knighton Park. We head towards old Knighton village, passing St Mary Magdalen Church and green spaces along the way.

Starting in Knighton Park - near the main car park, off Palmerstone Way.

This figure-of-eight walk starts in beautiful Knighton Park and uses suburban streets and gittys to explore the residential area north of the park. The route passes old Knighton village and St Mary Magdalen Church along the way before returning to Knighton Park. At just under 3 miles, this is one of our longer walks. At a steady pace it will take just over 90 minutes, with a few brief information stops.

This walk is free to attend, but numbers are limited so please book via Eventbrite to secure your place or phone 0116 454 2860 when booking has opened. Please note our phone line is answered during office hours only (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm), not at weekends or bank holidays.

If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel via Eventbrite or contact us by phone (during office hours)so we can allow others the opportunity to attend.

New Walkers

If you have not walked with Leicester City Council before we will ask you to complete our Walker Registration form in advance of the walk online or by phone. You will receive an email with information about how to complete the form in the days leading up to the event. You only need to do this once and can attend any of our walks thereafter (subject to booking a place on Eventbrite).

Dress for the weather

Remember to dress appropriately for the weather. Our group walks will go ahead in most weather. We recommend the following:

Comfortable sturdy footwear
Bring a raincoat or umbrella in case of rain
On cooler days wear appropriate layers and a coat/jacket
On warmer days wear a hat, sunscreen and suitable light layers
Please bring a bottle of water with you.

Group size

We kindly ask walkers to book places, so we can keep the group sizes manageable.
