Grief Retreat Day

Welcome to our Grief Retreat Day! Join us at The Zen Den Yoga and Well-being for a day of healing and connection.

Grief is exhausting and can be very lonely. We are not meant to grieve alone, yet our current society has us believe our grief should be pushed down and hidden. That it is something to 'get over' and that we must return to normal as quickly as possible. Grieving in this way is very detrimental. Grief needs to be witnessed, held and felt. Our Grief retreat day will provide a safe space to facilitate this.

The day will provide chance for you to move your body, reset the nervous system and have time to meet your grief with compassion and share your loss with others who understand how hard this journey can be.

The day will begin at 10:45 for arrival and introductions.

Then you will be guided through a movement workshop with Eloise at Fawe. Eloise delivers a unique powerful experience where movement, breath and sound are combined to help release stress that is stored within the body.

After this, there will be chance to eat (you will need to bring your own lunch) and converse with others before then settling down for a beautiful sound-bath with little yoga wanderer. The sound-bath will relax you and allow your body time to release emotional blockages and have chance to heal and rejuvenate on a cellular level.

After the sound-bath we will then enter into a sacred grief circle, with optional cacao to drink.

The grief circle will be a chance to allow our vulnerability to show as we give ourselves permission to allow our grief to be seen, heard and felt in a safe environment. Grief doesn’t need to be ‘fixed’ it just needs to be welcomed and witnessed.

You’ll be guided in circle through a combination of meditation, breath, personal sharing, poetry and journalling.

After the grief circle there will be an optional walk on Watergate Bay Beach to connect with nature
