How do individuals and their families “rebalance their lives” after a loss, be it a death, traumatic event, or any crisis? The death of a family member, significant other, relative or friend changes who we are. It provides us with a new “window” to look through which we have never seen before. It reshapes us. This presentation will examine: transitions and what brings them about; rebalancing and relearning our world; and, strategies to help families and friends cope with the opportunities and struggles on the “journeys of transition.”
