Et nytt liv i Norge? ENGLISH:
Do you sometimes wonder if you’ll ever feel at home here in Norway? Or if you’ll ever be as fluent in Norwegian as you’d like? Do you sometimes feel lonelier here than you did back home? 😔 You’re not alone, and this new (free) language café in Oslo might be exactly what you need🌟
So how is this different from an ordinary språkkafé? Over 5 sessions, we’ll explore what life can really be like for foreigners in Norway. There will be a new main topic each time. We’ll share tips and advice, and you'll have the chance to discuss life here in a personal, honest way, while learning how to express your true feelings – in Norwegian! 🇳🇴
And the location? Terra Oslo - a calm, inviting yoga studio with terracotta walls – a peaceful space just for us, not a busy library. There’ll be plenty of time for relaxed conversations and laughter over coffee/tea and homemade cake, too☕️🍰
Who’s organising this?
My name is Lindis Hallan. I’m both English and Norwegian, a teacher, author, and language coach with lots of experience😊 I’ve lived in several countries and experienced culture shock myself🌍 I’ve spoken with many foreigners in Norway and heard their personal stories. I also work at regular language cafés and know what works and what doesn’t.
This café isn’t just about practising Norwegian – it’s about being yourself, sharing your thoughts and feelings on topics that many Norwegians might not always understand. It’s an opportunity to explore these things together with others, and find new ways to thrive in Norway💪
You need to be at around A2/B1 level, but don’t worry if you’re not quite there yet – this will be a different way of talking, so your exact level doesn’t matter so much. Sign-up is essential as places are limited: [email protected]

🌟 Velkommen til en ny type språkkafé (gratis)!
Jeg heter Lindis Hallan, og er både norsk og engelsk. Jeg har bodd i flere land og opplevd kultursjokk flere steder🌍
Som lærer, forfatter og språktrener har jeg snakket med mange utlendinger i Norge. Jeg har hørt historier om glede og trivsel, ja, men også om ensomhet og tvil. Kommer jeg til å føle meg hjemme her noen gang? Hvorfor snakker jeg fortsatt så dårlig norsk? Hvorfor blir jeg ikke ordentlig kjent med nordmenn?
Derfor starter jeg nå en ny type språkkafé!😊 Her skal vi snakke mer direkte om livet i Norge og dele erfaringer, tanker og følelser. Og ikke minst - vi skal dele tips og råd om hvordan vi kan trives i Norge! Vi skal ha 5 treff, og det blir ett nytt tema hver gang😊 Språkkaféen er på Terra Oslo, et nydelig, rolig lokale. Det blir servert kaffe/te og hjemmebakt kake☕️🍰 Velkommen!
