GPMC Presents Sneaker Ball for Mental Health and Wellness

To kick off and commemorate DC Black Pride Weekend 2024, GPMC proudly presents the Sneaker Ball for Mental Health and Wellness. This event will highlight trailblazers working in the mental health field and queer community while creating a space to come together to celebrate and take pride in who we are and how far we’ve come.

LGBTQIA+ individuals are more likely to experience depression, anxiety, and substance abuse compared to non-queer people. Due to stigma, bias, and lack of exposure, training, and education of providers, we may not receive the best mental health care. Despite hurdles against us, we find ways to break down these barriers and gain our healing.

Join GPMC on Thursday, May 23rd, at 6:30 pm, to celebrate how we continue to break the mold and move towards our collective healing. Come in your best-dressed attire and most standout pair of sneakers for a night full of music, entertainment, and fun prizes as we raise awareness of mental health and community resources and continue the fight to break down barriers!
