----------------------------------------
Join us for an evening of immersive Gong Sound Meditation in Yaletown!
We will begin the session by Setting our Intentions with the help of the Huachuma plant. Huachuma is a cactus plant native to the Andes Mountains in South America. It has been used for centuries by indigenous peoples in the region for its shamanic properties. Huachuma is a tool for meditation and self-awareness. It can bring limiting thoughts and beliefs to the surface of one’s consciousness. And what no longer serves our highest good has the opportunity to be released. You can find more information about the Huachuma here. The Huachuma is optional and you are welcome to accept or skip it while setting your intentions for the evening.
This is followed by a short but powerful Guided Breathwork practice, which will serve to down-regulate the nervous system.
We will sink deeper into relaxation with a brief Monochord meditation. I will playing the incredible 33-string OM Monochord, custom-made for my sessions by an artist in Spain. When all 33 strings are set in motion at the same time, a pleasantly rippling sound full of rich overtones washes over the listeners. The effect of the sound can be described as stimulating, lifting the spirits and at the same time relaxing.
We will then be immersed in the full spectrum of frequencies and vibrations of a gong bath. The main Gongs featured during the jounrey will the massive 38-inch Pure Titanium Sun Dance Gong and the 38-inch Paiste Planetary Sun Gong. In addition, two other big, unique gongs - a 32-inch Spiral Sufi Ammonite Gong and a 34-inch Blue Moon Gong - will add more layers and richness to the soundscape. As the vibrations and ethereal sounds of the two Sun Gongs wash over, they guide you into a state of deep relaxation and inner space exploration.
Our intention for this sound and vibrational journey is to ensure that you feel safe and relaxed throughout the entire experience, so you can go on an inner space exploration journey with the help of experienced facilitators.
What do you need to bring? Nothing - The Studio provides you everything for the session : Yoga mats, head pillows, blankets, back support cushion, blocks, water and tea. Just wear comfortable clothing.
