globus sensation: a night of poetry, flow, and collective care
About this Event
As part of the collective exhibition ripples, exhibiting artist Mariana Trujillo-Lezama presents an evening of bilingual poetry (English/Spanish), short readings from the zine globus sensation, and a gentle participatory moment about tears, grief, flow and return.
globus sensation is a transdisciplinary work and ongoing project that explores tears as a bodily, emotional, and collective form of medicine. Through installation, participatory exchange, ritual, and printed matter, the work considers crying as a process of regulation, release, protection, grief, and care.
The night will include:
- reading from the globus sensation zine, which extends the work through scientific research, poetry, prayer, and personal reflection
- reflections on writing in both English and Spanish, and translating feeling between languages
- a brief, optional writing exercise
- an open circle for others to share their own work or responses
All are welcome.
No experience necessary.
Come as you are.
A few copies of the zine will be available for purchase.
