Agenda (in chronological order)

AI in Genealogy: Tools, Tips, and Possibilities: Artificial intelligence is quietly transforming the way we research our family histories — and you may already be using it without realizing it. In this session, we'll explore how AI shows up inside the platforms you know, like Ancestry, FamilySearch, MyHeritage, and RootsMagic, as well as how general-purpose AI chatbots can become surprisingly powerful research companions. You'll leave with a clearer picture of what's out there, what each tool does well, and how to start putting these resources to work for your own family history journey. Presented by Robert "Rob" Mayer, Collin County Genealogical Society's Special Interest Group Leader.

Interactive Family History Book: We’ve all seen family member’s eyes glaze over when we talk about our genealogy research findings. Professional genealogist Bernard Meisner will show a new interactive and engaging way to share genealogical research with family members. By creating an interactive electronic book, you can share pictures, articles, maps and movies that document the lives and experiences of your ancestors.

Researching Mexican Records: Learn how to start your Mexican genealogy research. Beginning with a quick introduction on Mexican history covering early Colonization, the importance of the Mission system, and the way Land was granted by the Spanish crown. Discover what records are available for your Mexican ancestors, and how to access them from your home or local library. Presented by David "Alex" Garza, Dallas Public Library Genealogy & History Librarian.

Decoding Mexican Genealogy: Turning Records into Family History: This presentation aims to familiarize you with the vital record types pertaining to Mexico and will teach you how to extract pertinent information from these documents to support your research.
Presented by Christopher Bryant, Dallas Genealogical Society.

The event will meet in person in the library's Multipurpose Room and will not be recorded.
