Gardening for Small Spaces (balconies, patios, & containers)
About this Event
Whether you have a balcony, patio, courtyard, rooftop, or simply a collection of containers, this practical session will give you the knowledge and confidence to create a thriving, productive, and attractive garden in even the smallest of spaces.
Set within our award-winning community garden, the workshop combines practical outdoor learning with classroom-based discussion, helping you understand both the principles and techniques behind successful small-space gardening. Throughout the day, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, share ideas, and gain advice tailored to your own growing environment.
The workshop is led by Charlie, our Head Gardener and an experienced horticulture teacher, who brings both professional expertise and an approachable teaching style to the session. This workshop will cover;
- Planning a containerised display
- Maximising your available space
- Understanding the challenges of urban gardening
- Choosing plants suited to small and urban environments
As an organic garden, we focus entirely on sustainable methods of gardening, demonstrating how to create healthy, resilient planting schemes while working with the unique constraints of smaller spaces. You are encouraged to bring your own gardening gloves and secateurs if you have them. Please note that recording is not permitted during the workshop.
This workshop can also be purchased as a thoughtful gift, offering practical skills and inspiration for anyone looking to grow more successfully in a limited space.
Places are limited to keep the session practical and hands-on, so early booking is recommended.
