👣 Hike Description
We start from the historic market town of Dorking, nestled beneath the Greensand Hills and North Downs, this rewarding hike takes us through some of the most picturesque scenery in southeast England.

Our journey begins along the sweeping chalk slopes of Denbies Hillside, a National Trust Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), renowned for its rich wildlife and seasonal (Spring and Summer) wildflowers. From there, we head south through peaceful valleys and woodland paths across the stunning Wotton Common after reaching the idyllic hamlet of Friday Street, home to its famous Hammer Pond surrounded by forested hills.
The highlight of the hike is the climb to Leith Hill Tower, standing at 295 metres above sea level. As the highest point in southeast England, Leith Hill offers breathtaking panoramic views stretching across the North Downs, the Weald, and beyond on clear days.

The return route winds through the wooded Greensand Hills, passing the beautiful ponds of Bury Hill Fisheries before one final ascent to The Temple Gazebo at The Nower Nature Reserve. From here, enjoy spectacular views over Dorking, Box Hill, Ranmore Common, and the southern lowlands.

After the hike, we have some time to relax and enjoy refreshments in Dorking before heading home.
