Join us for a walking tour exploring Galway’s rich history and the fascinating landmarks of the City of Tribes

Discover the fascinating Norman history of Galway on this fun walking tour through the city's historic streets.

Organised in association with the Galway Tour Guides' Association and the Oyster Festival, this event focuses on the characters and stories of the 14 powerful merchant families who once dominated the City of the Tribes.

Discover how the 14 Tribes shaped medieval Galway, and how their influence is still visible throughout the city centre today.

This tour will take in the City Wall, the Lynch Memorial Window, St Nicholas' Collegiate Church (ever wondered what 'Collegiate' means?) and the Latin Quarter, with lots of stops along the way, including some historical gems that are hidden in plain sight on the city's streets.
