Every First Friday of the month, from 3-6 p.m., NHS partners with the Omaha Public Library to offer reading to shelter pets.
- Free to attend, but we gratefully welcome any donations (like a bag of pet food).
- Kiddos accompanied by an adult can choose a book from our shelf, the Omaha Public Library's options or their favorite from home.
- Adults can also read to pets without kids.
- Pick a dog, cat or critter who needs a little attention.
- Reading to them helps ease anxiety!
- Often, we have a few other activities like dog bingo or sidewalk chalk decorating that the Omaha Public Library puts together.
- Learn about everything the Omaha Public Library offers!
- Drop in any time between 3-6 p.m. to join in on the fun! You don't have to stay the whole time, nor do you have to be at the shelter by 3.
- No registration is necessary - just show up!
