Fungi For Families - October- Ottawa Mushroom Society

Welcome to a mushroom adventure designed just for kids (and the grown-ups who bring them).

At Princess Louise Falls Park, we’ll turn the forest into a playground of discovery—learning about fungi through games, storytelling, and hands-on exploration.

Kids will:

• Learn what mushrooms are (and what they’re definitely not)
• Discover weird and wonderful fungi facts
• Go on mini “mushroom hunts”
• Build curiosity about the natural world

Parents can relax and enjoy the walk alongside their kids—no teaching required, but do please keep an eye on your child.

Details:

• Duration: 90 minutes (2:00 PM – 3:30 PM)
• Kids: Paid ticket (5+)
• Park on Brookridge Crst, go up the path between houses 593 and 595.
• Parents/guardians: Free
• Trail: Easy, but not stroller-friendly

• What to bring: Comfortable shoes, water, weather-appropriate clothing, mosquito repellent/netting (even if you don't think you will want to use it, trust us.)
