Join us April 18 at the Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Garden for From Seed to Mason, a half-day educational workshop dedicated to the full cycle of stewardship, from seed science to safe home preservation.
🌾 Seed Education Sessions
👩‍🌾 Led by Liz Morrow, Certified Master Gardener
Learn about seed biology, seed viability and germination, collecting seeds, and proper seed storage.
Session Times:
• 9:30 to 10:30 AM
• 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
🍓 Canning & Preserves Sessions
👩‍🌾 Led by Doreen Spires, Master Food Preserver
Explore safe and proper canning methods, the preserve-making process, and key principles for successful home canning. Each participant will take home a jar of jam.
Session Times:
• 9:00 to 10:30 AM, Home Food Preservation
• 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Jam Making
This program welcomes gardeners, homesteaders, and curious learners at every level.
