2 Day class (June 20th and 27th) on how to best use Lightroom for film and digital. Organizing, editing and exporting covered.
About this Event

You’ve just received your digital scans back from the film lab - now what?
As you continue shooting, it becomes easier for your files to stack up, and harder to locate, organize, and fully utilize the images you care about. This hands-on workshop is designed to help you build a clear, efficient workflow so your images don’t just sit in folders, but become accessible, editable, and ready for print or presentation. While this class focuses on film photography, digital photographers are welcome and encouraged to attend. The core principles apply across both mediums: organizing your archive, streamlining your editing process, and turning your images into polished, finished work.

What You’ll Learn
Session 1: Organize & Edit

  • Differences between Lightroom Classic and CC - and why it matters
  • How Lightroom works alongside Photoshop
  • Building a clean archive using collections
  • Fast techniques for sorting and selecting your best images
  • Essential tools to elevate your images while maintaining a natural, film-forward look

Between Sessions: You’ll receive guided recommendations to practice what you’ve learned, so you can return with questions, feedback, and a stronger workflow.

Session 2: Refine & Export:

  • Integrating Lightroom with Photoshop for detailed edits
  • Exporting your files for different uses (print, client delivery, books, slideshows)
  • Creating polished, presentation-ready images

You’ll also see how file quality and scan resolution impact your ability to edit and print your work, helping you get more from your images.
Who This Is For:

  • Film photographers building a growing archive
  • Emerging or professional photographers refining their workflow
  • Digital photographers looking to better organize and utilize their images

What You’ll Walk Away With:

  • A clear system for organizing and archiving your images
  • Confidence editing film (and digital) photographs
  • The ability to quickly find, export, and deliver your work
  • A stronger understanding of how to prepare images for print, books, and presentation

What to Bring:

  • Laptop (strongly recommended for hands-on learning)
  • Lightroom Classic (current version recommended)
  • Tip: Adobe offers a 14-day free trial if you’re exploring the software

What’s Included:

  • Printed handout for notes and workflow reference
  • Recording of the presentation after class
  • Guided exercises between sessions
