From Questions to Creation: a one-day making workshop with data
About this Event
About the day
Come and make something with data.
In the morning, Neil Richards shares where creative ideas come from and how to look at data differently. In the afternoon you put the screen away and build something by hand on canvas, using craft materials we provide.
This is a day for making things, in a small group, with numbers as your starting point. Curiosity is plenty, and no drawing skill is needed.
Who it’s for
- You work with data and want a more creative way into it
- You’re a creative person who likes numbers, or at least isn’t scared of them
- You’re a researcher, academic or public sector worker who needs to reach people outside your field
- You make things for a living or for fun and want to try using data as your material
If numbers don’t put you off and you like making things, you’re in the right room.
What you’ll leave with
- Something you made by hand on the day
- A new way into creative thinking with data
- Practical ideas to take back to your work or your own creative practice
