Summer camp with a focus on social skills. Designed and led by an OT and SLP, for kids 6-9y in Cochrane, AB. Full and Half Day options.
About this Event

What kind of summer camp is this?

This camp is designed to support development of social skills and confidence in connecting with others.  Campers will engage in group activities and support authentic meaningful interactions as well as teaching important friendship building skills. This camp will be a mix of clinic and community based adventures and will be led by an Occupational Therapist and a Speech Language Pathologist collaboratively.

• Full Day: 9am - 4pm - drop off and pick up locations may vary throughout the week but will remain within Cochrane - schedule will be provided 2 weeks in advance and subject to weather conditions.
• Half Day: 9am - 1pm - drop off and pick up locations may vary throughout the week but will remain within Cochrane - schedule will be provided 2 weeks in advance and subject to weather conditions.

Where will the camp take place?

This camp will take place predominantly at our location in downtown Cochrane with activities occuring at nearby parks or community facilities within walking distance.

Is this camp a good fit for my child?

Following registration through Eventbrite, registrants will receive an intake form from Ascend Pediatrics to verify participants meet the developmental and health requirements for safe camp attendance.

Registrants should:

• Be able to independently use the washroom for all purposes
• Not pose a heightened risk of elopement (bolting/running off)
• Be prepared for outdoor, physical activity including walking up to 3km with breaks throughout the day

If it is determined that your child requires an individual support person to accompany them for safe camp attendance, this will be your responsiblity to arrange.
