About this Event
Overview
This free NHS Pre-Travel Risk Assessment Training Programme introduces GP practices to the TravelDoc™ model developed by Dr Bobby Ahmed. It equips practice nurses with the skills and governance needed to deliver safe, structured, evidence-based pre-travel consultations — reducing clinical risk, improving patient safety, and freeing up GP time.
Who It’s For
NHS Practice Nurses, registered nurses delivering travel health, newly appointed staff, and return-to-practice clinicians needing updated capability.
What’s Covered
A full walkthrough of the TravelDoc™ pre-travel assessment, including traveller and destination risk profiling, vaccine decision-making, malaria assessment, bite-avoidance, documentation, governance, and delivery of a structured 20–30 minute consultation using TRAVAX, NaTHNaC and the Green Book.
Why It Matters
Standardises practice, reduces medicolegal risk, strengthens competency, increases capacity, improves outcomes, supports PCN alignment, and meets CQC expectations. Delivered at zero cost to the NHS — no CPD fees, no add-ons.
