YOUNGSTOWN, OH — July 30, 2025 — Dust off your boots and grab your dancing partner—Downtown
Youngstown is about to come alive with rhythm, joy, and community spirit!
Beginning Tuesday, August 5, 2025, and continuing every Tuesday evening until the weather turns, the
City of Youngstown is thrilled to invite the public to FREE Line Dancing in the Phelps Street Gateway—
our vibrant pedestrian corridor in the heart of downtown.
From 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, join the iconic Lynn McElroy, one of Youngstown’s beloved line-dancing
legends, for high-energy, feel-good dance classes designed for ALL levels—from absolute beginners to
seasoned steppers. Whether you're looking to learn something new, meet new friends, or just move
your body to the beat, this event is for you.
No cost. No pressure. Just pure fun!
“Let’s shine together, move together, and dance downtown,” says Melanie Clarke-Penella, Special Events Coordinator for the City of Youngstown. “This isn’t just a dance class—it’s a downtown celebration of movement, music, and togetherness.”
Expect upbeat tunes, smiling faces, and a beautiful open-air setting under the summer sky. The Phelps
Street Gateway provides the perfect backdrop for dancing your cares away. So, bring your friends, your
co-workers, or just your own two feet and let’s keep Youngstown grooving.
