Free Hernia Screening & Education Event

Take a proactive step toward your health with a free hernia screening and educational event hosted by DeTar Healthcare System.

The evening begins with a brief educational session to help you better understand hernias—what to look for, risk factors, and treatment options. Following the session, attendees will receive a complimentary hernia screening conducted by licensed providers.

Board-certified general surgeons will be on-site to answer questions, provide guidance, and discuss next steps if needed. On-site scheduling for surgical consultations will also be available.

Hernias are more common than many realize and often go undetected until symptoms worsen. Early detection can help prevent discomfort, complications, and the need for emergency care—while also expanding treatment options and improving outcomes.

Who should attend?

This event may be especially beneficial if you:

• Notice discomfort, swelling, heaviness, or a bulge in the abdomen or groin
• Regularly lift heavy objects
• Have a family history of hernias
• Live an active or athletic lifestyle

Important: Attendance at the educational session is required to receive a screening.

Eligibility: Adults 18+

Light refreshments will be provided.

Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure timely screenings. Appointment for screenings are scheduled in 10 min. increments and those that pre-register are asked to arrive 10 minutes prior to their screening appointment. Reserve your spot today.
