About this Event

The 2014 documentary Freedom Summer, directed by Stanley Nelson,chronicles the historic 1964 Mississippi voter registration drive. It highlights the 700+ student volunteers who joined the local Black movement to shatter white supremacy, facing brutal violence, intimidation, and local, state and federal political resistance.
