Emmett Till 71st Anniversary Commemoration Weekend Aug 28-30 2026

Venue: various locations in Jackson snd the Delta area in Mississippi.

Date: Day 1 August 28, 2026 at 10:30 AM (Central Time) Come join us for a (3day) weekend of remembrance, reflection and empowerment as we honor Emmett Till and Mamie Till Mobley's undeniable legacy beginning at the Mississippi State Capitol. The event will include a press conference and at Jackson State University a candlelight vigil and balloon release, TILL movie screenings and talk back, Day 2 Aug 29 an educational life changing bus tour of Emmett's Final journey to the delta area and more. There will be opportunities to connect with others who are passionate about legacy, civil rights, voting and our future generations . Day 3 Aug 30 Worship Together in White at a local COGIC/Baptist Church and breaking bread together for Unity and a send off.

Info: This is the Emmett Till National Day Of Remembrance and a Time For Unity in Black and White honoring the life and legacy of Emmett Louis Till a 14-year-old boy whose visit to Mississippi from Chicago ended with his lynching in '55. The acquittal of his murderers, his open casket funeral ignited the global civil rights movement still relevant today. Also 2026 marks the 21st anniversary of the Emmett Till Legacy Foundation. Please Come & join youth, local & nat'l Legislators, Till Family members, community leaders, other impacted families, activists and special guests. Please wear black & white attire, pause for a moment of silence at 12 noon. Say his name & all others whose lives have been stolen. Experience what is planned over this powerful and life changing 71st year anniversary 3 day weekend. As remember both Emmett his mother, we unite and commit to honor the past, vote, prepare the next generation for the future, stand up, speak out and never forget.

Please plan to join us on Emmett Till's last journey in the Delta area of Mississippi ( we board in Jackson immediately following the parade at the end of parade route) Let's experience this life impacting journey together including sites of Emmett's fateful journey to include stops in Money, Mississippi, the Emmett Till Statue, Emmett Till and Mamie Till Mobley National Monuments, museum visits and more with youth, sponsors, supporters, ambassadors, advocates, families of the movement, concerned mothers, #mothersofmurderedsons, civil rights era families, Till Legacy Family members and special guests for the unique Emmett Till 71st Year Anniversary Commemoration Educational Tour. Registration required plus a nominal fee for museum admission. Sponsorships available at request. Donations accepted.
