Following the Ninth is a documentary film about the global impact of Beethoven’s final symphony. It is a story about the power of music and human resilience in dark times. Directed by Kerry Candaele, award-winning documentary film director, writer and musician. After the film, patrons can enjoy an exclusive Q&A with the director led by Ocala Symphony Orchestra Conductor, Matt Wardell. This film is a wonderful prelude to the Ocala Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony on March 30 at the Reilly Arts Center. This FREE film screening is made possible through a partnership with the College of Central Florida’s Ira Holmes International Film Series, which seeks to educate and inspire through films that are culturally, historically, and artistically important. The late CF Professor, Ira Holmes, is the founder of the series and an advocate for maintaining the Marion Theatre as a downtown destination for films.
