Flourishing, together

Flourishing, together, is a regional conversation exploring what we all need to flourish in our social leadership roles and what helps us create cultures of learning, development and growth. It is hosted by Yes We Can on Tuesday 28 April 2026, 13:00 for 13:30 to 17:00 at One Strawberry Lane, Newcastle.

In Flourishing, together we’ll

• be inspired by stories of social leadership flourishing
• connect and nurture our relationships
• learn about each other and what helped each of us get to where we are in our social leadership roles
• hear the latest insights from Third Sector Trends research about our VCSE workforce
• explore together what helps us create cultures of learning, development and growth
• share some ideas on how we can flourish in our social leadership roles

We’ll be giving a platform to a diverse range of voices to hear how they’re creating cultures of learning, development and growth for social leadership flourish. We’ll hear from small and large organisations, about people’s individual leadership journeys, and what places are doing about their social leadership.

This is for you if you share our passion and commitment to social leadership and to the north east, its people and places. You might be working or volunteering for social change in our region; an aspiring, new or experienced social leader; leading an organisation, team or work, or growing an idea and making a difference anyway you can.

• 13:00-13:30 – arrive, connect with each other, settle in
• 13:30-16:30 - Flourishing, together…a regional conversation exploring what we all need to flourish in our social leadership roles
• 16:30-17:00 – informal networking in the room
• afterwards – continue the conversation at a local bar for those who can

Flourishing, together is hosted by Yes We Can with grateful support from Sir James Knott Trust. We’re grateful too to those sharing their inspiring stories and to the other people and organisations who collaborate with us and encourage our work.

Yes We Can develops social leadership in the north east. But we don’t, and can’t, do this alone. We’re part of an ecosystem that supports and develops social leadership across our region. Together we work so our civil society is impactful, resilient and influential.

We work with social leaders to be better leaders, managers, trustees, networkers, collaborators, facilitators, coaches and mentors. We offer training programmes, workshops, coaching, mentoring, action learning, one on one work with organisations, facilitation and other initiatives.

This is the first regional conversation we’re hosting about what we all need to flourish in our social leadership roles but it won’t be the last. Our next event is in October 2026.

This work builds on the last decade working collaboratively to think about, explore and understand what effective, inclusive and collaborative leadership looks and feels like. Our collaborative initiatives and concepts include North East Together, North East Coaching Collective, Lead and manage, our leadership programme, and many more.

We use your name and email address to run the event. We will send you a confirmation email when you book, the event pack a week or so before the event, and an event follow up email. We will not use your email address for anything else.

If you ask to be added to the Yes We Can mailing list when you book, we'll add your name and email address to our mailing list, which we run via Mailchimp. We send out our newsletter, Sowing Seeds, 6-8 times a year plus occasional other emails. Each email includes an unsubscribe link in the footer.
