Get outdoors this spring break and spend 2 ½ days exploring three unique Florida ecosystems!
About this Event

The Florida Youth Naturalist Program (FYNP) is a new program for young nature enthusiasts interested in learning more about Florida’s environment. Inspired by the Florida Master Naturalist program, this youth program takes kids aged 10 to 13 on a journey through Florida’s ecosystems, from the uplands, through freshwater, and to the coast.

We will be exploring Florida's wide variety of ecosystems through hands-on activities and field surveys. This camp is perfect for kids who enjoy being outdoors and are interested in learning about our local ecosystems.

If you are 10-13 years old and are located in South Brevard, join us for a two and a half day adventure with hands-on activities to learn about three of Florida's unique ecosystems

Camp will run at these times and will be located as follows:

03/25/2026 (Wednesday): 1pm-4pm at UF/IFAS Brevard County Extension Offices

03/26/2026 (Thursday): 9am-4pm at Turkey Creek Sanctuary

03/27/2026 (Friday): 9am-4pm at Barrier Island Center

Drop-off and pick-up will be at the listed times and locations. Please note Wednesday (03/25) will be a half day and drop-off time will be at 1pm this date ONLY.

After registering, a follow up email will be sent closer to the event dates with further information regarding meeting locations, dress code, etc.

Youth must be ages 10-13 to participate.

Space is limited to 20 youth. A waitlist will be available.

No refunds will be issued 7 days prior to the camp.

NOTE: Classes and events may be canceled at any time due to low registration or other circumstances, with full refunds issued for paid events. Similar classes or events often are offered on future dates.

The University of Florida is committed to providing universal access to all of our events. For disability accommodations such as sign language interpreters and listening devices, please contact the UF/IFAS Brevard County Extension Office at [email protected] or (321) 633-1702 at least 2 weeks in advance. Advance notice is necessary to arrange for some accessibility needs.
