About this Event

Join us at Kanuga on November 14, 2026, for a community gathering centered on movement, relaxation, and connection.

Enjoy lunch and an afternoon featuring Tai Chi, MELT, and Forest Bathing. Explore gentle movement, mindful body awareness, and time in nature—all in Kanuga’s beautiful surroundings.

Whether you’re joining friends or coming on your own, take time to slow down, connect with others, and try something new.

Tai Chi, led by Blake Hoffmeyer, is a gentle mind-body practice that combines slow, flowing movements with focused breathing. It encourages balance, coordination, and relaxation while inviting you to move with awareness and ease.

MELT, led by Jane Curth, is a gentle self-care practice that uses soft foam rollers and small balls to apply light pressure to the body’s connective tissue, or fascia. Through guided movements, you’ll explore simple techniques that may help ease tension, aid in pain relief, and support more comfortable movement.

Forest Bathing, led by Aimee Bostwick, is a gentle, mindful way to experience nature by slowing down and engaging your senses. Take in the sights, sounds, and textures of the forest as you unwind and reconnect with the world around you. And yes, keep your clothes on—this kind of bathing requires trees, not towels!

Instructors:

Blake Hoffmeyer

Blake studies Chen-style Tai Chi as a student of Sifu David Bao of the Hua Ying Tai Chi School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Drawing on years of martial arts and military experience, he approaches Tai Chi as a practice for health and wellness, balance, and self-cultivation. He aims to make his sessions practical, welcoming, and beginner-friendly while challenging to all ability levels. His session will offer a practice for fitness, renewal, and personal cultivation.

Jane Curth

Jane Curth is a longtime fitness educator with more than 20 years of experience teaching Kinesiology and Health. An ACE-certified personal trainer, SilverSneakers FLEX instructor, and certified MELT instructor, she brings both academic expertise and hands-on experience to her work. Jane founded FitFixNow in 2016, developing an online continuing education platform with practical, evidence-informed courses for fitness professionals before selling the company in 2024. She continues to make fitness education practical, accessible, and relevant.

Aimee Bostwick

Aimée Bostwick serves as Kanuga’s Senior Advisor for Program Innovation, bringing nearly three decades of experience in ministry, community building, and spiritual formation. A spiritual director certified in forest bathing through the Spiritual Guidance Training Institute, she has also completed 200-hour yoga teacher training. Aimée creates welcoming spaces for connection with ourselves, one another, and the natural world. She enjoys hiking, dancing to live music, and gathering with family and friends around a campfire.
