About this Event
Create a 3-D soft sculptural FISH from recycled jeans! These soft sculptures can also be
designed as fish handbags! We will start the workshop by viewing a 5 minute INDIGO film that
spotlights art creations inspired by denim. Then experiment and play with this versatile material
consisting of buttons, seams, zippers, pockets and denim fabric in a wide range of blue colors!
There is a rich history to denim and jeans, and the material crosses generations and cultures-
Did you know that it takes 1800 gallons of water to make one pair of jeans? Come learn all
about denim and ART! This workshop is open to Grades Pre K-8.
Fish Sculptures Using Reclaimed Denim with Pamela Moulton will take place on Saturday, May 10, 9:30-11:30 AM. Maximum of 10 students per class. Cost is $35 per student.
Scholarships are available through the Meetinghouse Arts . To apply, please contact [email protected] for more information. If you'd like to financially support students for the 2025 Youth Art Workshop Series, Arts Access Fund donations are gratefully accepted.
